Elders Our Elders are the small group of church members who oversee the spiritual life of our church. The duties of an elder include: - vision and mission overview
- pastoral care
- leadership development and appoitment
- worship leadership
- teaching and preaching
- succession planning
- affiliation with the broader Churches of Christ movement
and any other issue or circumstance that affects the spititual nature of our existence and ministry. Board of Management The Board of Management is similar in status but different in function to the Elders. Baord members must also fulfill similar qualities of leadership to those of Elders, however their responsibilites are more to do with the practical and daily running of church life. It is required that they direct the affairs of the church. These duties include: - financial monitoring and reponsibility
- administration
- publications and promotions
- property, maintenance and insurance
- event staffing and management
- service functions and rosters within the church
The leaders of our church are mature Christians who show personal spiritual commitment and growth, strong discipleship, vision, a passion for Jesus Christ, and strong personal leadership qualities. These and other qualities are determined by the many references about elders, deacons and leaders in the New Testament. Scripture references
